Discover the untouched beauty of the Erg Chigaga Sahara dunes. Escape the crowds and explore one of Morocco’s most remote and authentic desert areas. Located southeast of Marrakech near the Algerian border, Erg Chigaga sits over 60 km from the nearest town, Mhamid, offering a true off-the-grid adventure far from mass tourism.
An Erg Chigaga tour is a unique and natural experience. You will travel for at least 3 days through beautiful landscapes including Ait Benhaddou, the Draa Valley, rocky desert plains, and finally the wide-open Sahara dunes. This journey offers the feeling of total freedom and peace.
Imagine riding a camel across golden sand, climbing high dunes, and watching the sunset in complete silence. Spend the night in cozy desert tents or sleep under the stars. Erg Chigaga is different from the more touristic Erg Chebbi: there are no hotels nearby, no crowds—just pure desert and nature.
If you want a real Sahara experience, away from busy areas, this Erg Chigaga desert tour will give you unforgettable memories.

Extra Costs to Expect:
1. What’s the difference between a private and a shared tour?
The main difference is the vehicle. In a shared tour, you only share the transportation. Your room and tent stay private, and you can also eat separately if you prefer.
Another difference is that private tours are always guaranteed — once you book, the tour is confirmed.
Shared tours depend on demand and need at least 4 people. If the minimum is not reached, you can choose a free cancellation or continue as a private tour with a special price.
2. Is vegetarian or vegan food available?
Yes, we can prepare vegetarian or vegan meals. Just tell us during the booking, and remind your driver during the tour.
3. Can I reach the camp without riding a camel?
Yes, you can. The camp has a 4×4 car that transports luggage and guests who don’t want to ride camels, or who prefer to ride only once.
If you booked a private tour, your 4×4 vehicle can take you directly to the camp if needed.
4. Does the camp have private bathrooms?
Yes. Our camp is a luxury camp, and all tents have private bathrooms and showers. We include this in our basic packages without a big extra cost.
5. Can I bring my luggage on the tour?
Yes, you can bring your luggage. Our vehicles have plenty of space for large suitcases. Your luggage stays with you at all times, and in the desert, a 4×4 car will take it safely to your tent at the camp.
